일측이 근거자료 제시 없이 이른바 전자파 접촉음만을 공개한 뒤 사실 관계를 검증하기 위한 양국간 협의를 중단한다고 한데 대해 깊은 유감을 표명합니다.
일측이 제시한 전자파 접촉음은 우리가 요구한 '탐지 일시, 방위각, 전자파의 특성' 등을 전혀 확인할 수 없으며 실체를 알 수 없는 기계음입니다.
우리측이 지속적으로 강조한 바와 같이 정확한 증거를 제시하고 양국 전문가가 참여한 가운데 과학적이고 객관적인 검증에 적극 응할 것을 촉구합니다.
이번 사안의 본질은 인도주의적 구조활동 중인 우리 함정에 대한 일 초계기의 '저공위협비행'이며 이에 대한 재발 방지와 일측의 사과를 거듭 촉구합니다.
우리 정부는 공고한 한미 연합 방위체제와 더불어 한일 안보협력 강화를 위한 노력은 지속발전시켜 나갈 것입니다.
We express our deepest regrets to Japan for releasing the so-called radar sound without any detailed evidences and announcing discontinuation of a bilateral consultation to verify facts.
The radar sound released by Japan is a unknown machine sound that does not confirm 'detection time, azimuth and frequency specification' requested by the ROK.
As repeatedly emphasized, we urge Japan to provide an accurate evidence and actively participate in an objective and scientific verification of the evidence involving experts from the two countries.
The essence of this issue is a Japanese aircraft's 'threatful low-altitude flight' towards the ROK vessel that was conducting humanitarian rescue operation, and we again urge Japan to apologize and promise to prevent the recurrence of such incident.
Along with the solid ROK-US combined defense posture, our government will continue its efforts to strengthen security cooperation between the ROK and Japan.

당시 다양한 종류의 레이다가 운용되고 있었으며 현재 일측이 공개한 전자파 접촉음은 너무 가공된 기계음이어서 추적 레이다 관련 전자파 접촉음이라고 단정할 수 없습니다.
일측이 시스템 로그파일을 제공하지 않았기 때문에 당시 획득된 전자파 접촉음이라고 확정할 수 없습니다.
At the time, various types of radar were in operation, and it is hard to conclude that the radar sound released by Japan is the STIR related as the released sound is a heavily processed machine sound.
We cannot confirm that this sound is the one that was retrieved at the time as Japan did not release system log files.
