저는 11전투비행단에서 무장정비사로 임무를 수행하고 있는 배진호입니다.
저는 어릴 적부터 아버지가 공군 정비사로 복무하셨고,
전역까지 나라를 위해서 최선을 다하셨습니다.

어릴 때부터 그 모습을 봐왔고,
저도 평범한 직업보다는
좀 더 내 가치와 내가 사는 신념에 맞는 직업을 갖고 싶다
그러기 위해서는 나라를 위한 직업이 더 좋지 않을까 해서
공군에 지원하게 됐고, 무장정비사로 임무를 수행하게 됐습니다.

저희는 가슴이 제일 뜨거워질 때가 야간비행할 때,
항공기가 활주로에 정대하고, 애프터 버너가 터지면서 이륙을 하는 그 순간
그때가 가장 가슴이 뜨거워집니다.
아, 내가 오늘 하루도 저 항공기를,
저 육중한 무게의 쇳덩어리를 완벽한 무장으로 하늘로 보냄으로써
우리 딸과 가족들 그리고 우리 국민들이 정말 편하게 잘 수 있다.

이 시끄러운 전투기 소리가 전쟁이 나서 들리는 포화 소리보다는
적어도 작게 들릴 것이다 하는 자부심으로
그리고 최정예 무장사가 되어야 한다는 자부심으로 그렇게 복무를 하고 있습니다.

제 이름은 배진호
저는 무장정비사입니다.

My name is Bae, Jin-ho currently carrying out missions as an ordnance mechanic at 11th Fighter Wing.
My dad was an Air Force mechanic back when I was young, He finished his service giving his best to serve his country.
Watching my dad made me want more than just an ordinary job,
I wished to have a vocation that allows me to live out my values.
Hence, I came to realize that serving my country will be much more fitting for me
and I began my career as an ordnance mechanic in the Air Force.
Most heart warming moment that makes my job worthwhile is
when an aircraft is on the air strip and takes off with the burst of the after burner at night.
It is the moment I feel alive.

With the pride that I am responsible for that aircraft soaring through the sky,
carrying its heavy metal body and perfectly arranged ordnance,
making sure that my daughter, family and people of this country will sleep sound tonight,
with the pride that the roaring sound of jet engine will keep away the loud gun fires of a war
and with the noble dignity to become an elite mechanic I serve my country.
