We've been on the road for a month already, venturing all the way down via The ICE in St Moritz to Rome, Italy, and now we're heading to the most northern stop of the tour; which means over 1,000km up through Norway and Sweden, including a visit to the iconic Atlantic Ocean Road. Along the way comes a milestone for my Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series at 46,200km becoming the highest mileage driven of any car in my ownership, and this is still just the start!

With dramatic winds and sideways rain, the road is perhaps not ideal for a visit but it's a special place to see with over 8km or tarmac crossing bridges that links islands together. Having taken this Shmeemobile to the Transfagarasan in Romania, Jebel Jais in the UAE and through Death Valley in the United States, it's another phenomenal location to add to the list of memories and special visits.

After a night stop in Trondheim, our next leg is a 700km+ stint across into Sweden and onwards to the AMG Driving Academy in Arjeplog. Most impressively however, is that the GT Black Series manages this 710.3km (441.3 mile) journey between petrol stations on a single tank - something I did not expect to be possible.

There are however two continual problems that I've experienced on recent road trips and I can't believe that already on this tour, both have hit this one. Firstly, punctures, and yes a nail in one of the rear SottoZero winter tyres that we picked up in Hamburg, Germany but had no time to fix before catching the overnight ferry to Oslo, Norway. Upon arrival we immediately had it repaired to at least continue on our journey, however that's not a long term solution due to the value, performance, and intended speeds of the remainder of the journey.

Thankfully, Pirelli Norway managed to track down a pair and get them to a stop ahead of us on the tour at DekkTeam Tiller, ready to be fitted and confidently on the road for the onwards legs. It might sound excessive, but with the originals already aging, having had some significant life used up already, and planning to cross over Germany at high speed on the Autobahn, changing them is for the best. It is a huge thanks to everyone involved who helped to make this work out!

That's not all though, yet again, the windscreen has taken a hit and has a nasty spider-chip, which might well need some new glass. In the meantime it is okay, and it might be repairable, but the journey continues and it's one to worry about down the line.

Regardless, what a journey this is shaping up to be, and what immense progress we make during this leg!
