I placed my order for the Emira a few years ago, fortunately placing quite highly up the order queue considering it hadn't even been revealed at the time. With styling reminiscent of the Evija electric hypercar, the Emira is a phenomenal amount of car for the money; coming in at a little over £80,000 in fully loaded First Edition trim. Powered by the familiar 3.5l supercharged V6, it puts out 400hp and crucially in my spec has the all important 6 speed manual gearbox.

Starting in my garage, we're on the road in the Skoda Octavia VRS team car, to head over to the Lotus factory where I visited a month ago to see my car in build. This time however, it's ready to be revealed and then driven back home for the first outing on the road and a real sense of what the hotly anticipated car is all about.
